How local health foundations champion health as a priority

Apr 7, 2024

It's World Health Day, and because we dig into everything (scalpel, surgeon), we're checking out this year's key messages.

The one that's sticking with us the most?

"Championing health as a priority."

And maybe it’s because we work so closely with health foundations, but they're who come to mind when we think about the creativity, adaptability, and downright motivation it takes to champion health as a priority in our communities.

So, here are some of our favourite examples of it. 💚

The Moncton Hospital Foundation

in New Brunswick, Canada is currently building two state-of-the-art units, including a Coronary Care Unit and a unit for obstetrics and newborn care:

... and the list of health foundations and their accomplishments goes on and on (and we’d love to go on and on, too, but we know you stop reading around 30 seconds in.)

How are local health foundations fundraising to make an impact?

They’re raising awareness and asking for community support:

They're giving people simple, consistent ways to engage and feel like part of a bigger community (side note, rural hospital foundations are particularly good at this):

The Nova Scotia Healthcare Foundations 50/50 represents dozens of healthcare foundations across the province, helping rural communities get more reach and more access to raising funds

So, if you're part of a health foundation who's championing community health, just know: We see you and we appreciate all of it.

If there's a chance Rafflebox could make running your healthcare lottery easier (and we think it would), let’s get on a call to review your program and talk efficiency.
